Key Registration Terms

1. Applicability

   1. These Key Registration Terms apply to the registration and management of key codes through the Lock Works key registration service.
   2. These terms apply as Additional Terms to the Lock Works General Terms and Conditions.
   3. By registering a key code and accepting these terms, you agree to these Key Registration Terms.

2. Key registration

   1. The key registration service allows you to link the key code of a Lock Works product to your Lock Works account.
   2. The registration is intended to securely store your key code, enable you to order replacement keys, provide support with questions concerning your key code and allow the registration to be transferred when the product is transferred to another user.
   3. Registration of a key code is not required to use the product.
   4. You are responsible for entering the key code correctly.
   5. You may only register a key code for a product that is lawfully in your possession or for which you have permission from the lawful owner.
   6. A key registration with Lock Works does not in itself constitute proof of ownership of the product.
   7. Lock Works may refuse, block or remove a registration where there is reasonable doubt regarding the accuracy or legitimacy of the registration.

3. Security of the key code

   1. A key code is security-sensitive information. Keep your key code, Security Card and Lock Works account login details secure.
   2. You are responsible for securing your account and keeping your login details confidential.
   3. Contact us as soon as possible if you suspect that someone has gained unauthorised access to your account or key code.
   4. Lock Works will not make a registered key code public or disclose it to third parties, except where this is necessary to provide the key registration service, manufacture or supply replacement keys, or where we are legally required to do so.

4. Replacement keys

   1. A registered key code may be used to request or order a replacement key, provided a suitable replacement key is available for the relevant key code.
   2. Lock Works may carry out additional checks before supplying a replacement key.
   3. We may refuse a request where there is doubt regarding the identity of the applicant, the legitimacy of the registration or the applicant's entitlement to the relevant key.
   4. Charges may apply for the manufacture and supply of replacement keys. The prices and conditions applicable at the time of ordering will apply.
   5. Registration of a key code does not guarantee that replacement keys will remain available indefinitely or for any particular period.

5. Transfer of a registration

   1. If a Lock Works product is sold or otherwise transferred, the key code registration can be transferred to the new user.
   2. The registered user can initiate a transfer through the Lock Works account to the email address of the new user.
   3. The transfer will only be completed after it has been accepted by the new user.
   4. Once the transfer has been completed, the key code will be linked to the new user's account and the previous user will no longer have access to the registration through their account.
   5. The user initiating the transfer is responsible for correctly entering the new user's email address.

6. Deleting a registration

   1. You can delete a key registration through your Lock Works account.
   2. After deletion, the key code will no longer be linked to your account and Lock Works cannot restore the deleted registration.
   3. If you delete your Lock Works account, all key registrations linked to that account will also be deleted. Lock Works cannot restore these registrations or key codes afterwards.

7. Privacy

   1. For the key registration service, we process the information necessary to link the key code to your Lock Works account and provide the service.
   2. This information is used to manage the key registration, assist with replacement key requests, handle relevant service and support enquiries and carry out a transfer requested by you.
   3. The Lock Works Privacy Policy also applies to the processing of personal data.

8. Availability and liability

   1. Lock Works aims to maintain the key registration service with due care and availability, but does not guarantee that the service will always be available without interruption or errors.
   2. The key registration service is an additional service and does not replace your own responsibility to securely retain your keys, key codes and Security Card.
   3. To the extent permitted by law, Lock Works is not liable for damage resulting from incorrectly entered information, inadequate security of your account or disclosure of a key code to unauthorised third parties.
   4. Nothing in these terms limits the liability of Lock Works where such liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Changes to or discontinuation of the service

   1. Lock Works may modify the key registration service where necessary for technical, organisational, security or legal reasons.
   2. If Lock Works decides to discontinue the key registration service entirely, registered users will, where reasonably possible, be informed in advance.
   3. Lock Works may amend or supplement these Key Registration Terms from time to time.
